Izzie & Me

Our friends Justin, Melissa & Izzie went boating with us at Willard Bay and Kesli and Izzie loved playing in the water together!!

Izzie and Kesli kicking their feet in the water
(who knows how we got Kesli to look at the camera and not Izzie??)

Alley Cat

I thought I should post a few pics of our family pet! Alley Cat has been with us for 5 or so years and she is a pretty good kitty. She is just a little thing and is mostly hair! She sleeps most of the time and doesn't really like to be held or bothered much. She's the perfect pet for us because we can leave for a week and she's totally fine hanging out at home by herself. She has always liked to lay on things and I caught her lookin' cute the other day on my computer bag while I was working. She has become a lot more friendly since Kesli Shay joined the family, I think she doesn't get all the attention anymore so she'll take what she can get from who she can get it from. If you come to our house, chances are you won't see her, so here she is:)

"Apes"

I have to post about these funny little things so I don't forget about them:) Kesli loves grapes and calls them "apes." She likes to have her snacks in a bowl so she will get me a bowl out of the cupboard and tell me what she wants in it. Fishies (cheese gold fish), em ee m's (M&M's), Oh Goh's (Yo Go's), and Apes (grapes) to name a few of her favorite snacks for the moment. If you don't agree the first time she asks she'll turn her cute little head to the side and ask again...pretty hard to turn her down!! She is also very much into Tang right now and knows right where to find it on the lazy susan. She'll bring me her cup and the Tang and have me make it for her. She can drink from a cup and eat with a fork or spoon and will insist on doing so most of the time by saying "do it". She is very curious about the potty so I bought her a potty seat and we have been hanging out there a few times a day. As soon as I can track down a potty schedule or a good potty training book, I am sure she will take to it and we can say goodbye to the diapers. Yay! She is so smart and "Lil Miss Independent!!"

MOMMY'S...little...HELPER

Kesli helps me unload the dishwasher now. She puts all the silverware and tupperware away. It's so funny because she'll put something away, close the drawer or cupboard and repeat the process until her dishes are gone instead of just leaving the drawer and cupboard open.

Flaming Gorge - 4th of July 2009

We spent the 4th of July weekend at Flaming Gorge this year - it was wonderful and so relaxing! I had to go to New Jersey for a work meeting Monday til Wednesday (I got home at 1am) and we left Thursday morning. I had set clothes aside while doing laundry and figured I would pack the rest of our clothes when I got home but packed everything for Kesli before I left. Kesli was tearing into her bag, so Colton put it in the back bedroom, where we NEVER go and the door ALWAYS stays closed. He packed everything onto the boat Thursday morning while I was getting me and Kes ready. The unfortunate thing was that neither of us thought to ask each other if we got everything. Colton threw the clothes I had set aside into a bag and thought that was all of them, and I was so tired and it had been so long since I had been home that I didn't remember what I had set out. I guess we were too excited to get out of town! The result - Kesli's bag remained in the back bedroom so she had the t-shirt and shorts on her back, Colton had no underwear, and I had 35 shirts and tank tops and 1 pair of shorts. Pretty sure we'll NEVER forget this trip! We did buy Kesli some clothes so she wasn't a rag muffin all weekend, but she could have cared less. I should have just bought her a swim suit and called it good! She would have lived in the water if I would have let her.

Here she is walking with her daddy on the docks...

A few scenery pics - the canyons smelled like pine trees at Christmas time - it was beautiful and so quiet and serene as we drove up through them.

Here is Colton with the boys climbing cliffs to cliff dive...he can still keep up with the young 'uns!!!

Hangin' with mommy and daddy on the boat in the slip. Finally a smile on cue:)

...swimming with mommy...

KnEeBoArDiNg : I didn't get any pics of Colton kneeboarding cause I was drivin' but check out the water - it was sooooo smooth! You don't see that around here. This is Joel, Colton's best friend since high school. Never a dull moment when these two are together:)

All this boatin' can wear a sista out!
